How do I build a website for my business?

I just started a small business and I need to build a website where I can sell items online.

Where do I start? I do not have much money to spend!

To build a simple yet full featured website for ecommerce you can go to http://www.samwilson3d.com

The site says that ecommerce site is $475 but if you explain that you are on a tight budget and just need something basic like my site (http://www.soycandlesofocala.com ) you can get it for $375

If that is too much your only option is pretty much to do it yourself.

You may be interested in Zen Cart – http://www.zen-cart.com/ it is a free shopping cart system that can be an entire website allowing you to add and edit content pages as well as control your items.

You can either pay someone to create a website for you, or you can learn how to set one up yourself. That takes much time and effort, and there are hundreds of so-called experts out there who will offer to sell you courses, ebooks and so on on how to do it.

If you choose to pay someone else to create a website for you, be very wary: Thousands of people have websites built that attract no visitors and which are a complete waste of the business owner’s money.

I would suggest you join a few Forums, read a lot and ask questions.

Lots of information is available on the net for free, you dont have to spend a lot to get started. There is a great free e-book available, written by Chris Farrell, a genuine guy who shows you how to create a website, step by step. There is an upgrade available to join his membership site where there is loads more information and is great value for money, but there is no obligation to join. So sign up for the free book and check it out.
